Stairs & staircases

Wood that connects your home.

Every step starts with the space

The floor-to-floor height, the opening between levels and the connection to the floor determine the staircase. These guide the form, construction and material choices for everyday use.

Options

Timber staircases

Straight or turning flights, with open or closed risers. We adapt flights and landings to the layout, from understated designs to traditional detailing.

Stair cladding

Timber treads and risers for an existing structure. We also design the side finishes and transitions to landings, bringing the cladding together as a complete scheme.

Balustrades & handrails

Timber posts and infill, or combinations with glass or metal. For exterior stairs and walkways, we consider exposure to the weather and future maintenance.

Selected work

From the tread to the joint.

The edge profile, the joint between tread and stringer, and the fixing of the handrail all contribute to the staircase. We coordinate the grain and finish with the flooring and surrounding furnishings.
