Valtice Funeral Hall
Wood and light. A quiet space for farewell.

For the funeral hall in Valtice, we made the panelling around the farewell area, the catafalque, benches, a lectern and decorative wall lights. Oak and restrained forms bring the individual elements together in a calm, dignified setting.

The farewell area & catafalque
The catafalque forms the focal point of the hall, set within a timber-panelled recess. Its understated form gives prominence to the proportions and natural oak grain. Integrated LED lighting frames the panelling and brings depth to the farewell area.
Grain that flows from panel to panel
We arranged the three-layer solid oak panels to carry the grain across the adjoining pieces. Reverse-opening doors without architraves are integrated into the back wall, providing access to storage while preserving the clean lines of the panelling. An oil finish brings out the texture of the wood.

Craftsmanship in the details you touch
The solid oak benches are built with dovetailed battens, without screws. Their simple form is complemented by a lectern in the same timber. We paid close attention to the joints, edges and surfaces that people come into direct contact with.

Wood and light in harmony
The decorative wall lights combine a profiled oak section with integrated LEDs. Warm light emerges through a narrow slot, creating a gentle contrast on the white wall alongside the timber surfaces.
